Philippa Takhar, BSL Student
I've been wanting to learn BSL for a long time - due to personal interest and in a work capacity. I work in technology development in the health and care sector. An important part of that role is ensuring technology is designed and created with involvement from future users (for example patients, carers, and clinicians). So, I wanted to learn BSL to be able to support people who are deaf/hearing impaired to be more included in these conversations about future healthcare delivery.

The Famlingo course has been perfect for my needs - just what I was looking for! I have completed Level 1 and am currently studying Level 2. Our teacher, Cathy, is wonderful. She provides the right balance of new vocabulary content and teaching with opportunities for the class to practice new learning - and is very supportive and encouraging throughout. Every class is followed up with recorded content to enable us to practise throughout the week. I've also made lots of new friends within the class - we have a WhatsApp group where we share information and ask each other questions and provide each other with positive support throughout our learning journeys. They are a really lovely group of people - and it's been really interesting to share our experiences and reasons for wanting to learn BSL.

I'd definitely recommend Famlingo to anybody wanting to learn BSL.
